Why are we building this?
Buying a property is a major financial decision. This is especially true in Singapore, one of the hottest property markets in the world. However, getting information to help make this decision isn’t easy. Singapore property data is often fragmented, inaccessible and poorly organised. Once you get it all in one place, they’re all outdated.
So we asked, why can’t this be as simple as looking up TOTO winners 🙌
The value of clean, concise data stories
While there’s a lot of “free data” available, the problem is they’re often unsorted, outdated and sometimes inaccurate. For example, you want to understand how much the prices have changed for 1-bedroom units in a project over the last 12 months. At best, you get a list of transactions for 1-bedroom units, but what you probably want to find out is where prices are heading.
Are prices trending up or down? Is the property depreciating too quickly? And more importantly, how is this property performing against the rest of the properties in the region / area / Singapore’s market?
You could definitely eyeball it. But on a 7-digit investment, guestimation seems silly.
But if the project also has units that vary in size (e.g. 1-bedders that are 400, 500, 700 sqft). These variables can pollute the data you’re looking at - meaning you’re not getting an apples-to-apples comparison.
Now, say you want to do a head-to-head comparison between two properties’ prices, profitability and more. You can pull some data, but in the end, you’re usually left sorting through data on your own.... time to bust out that Excel spreadsheet 😭😳
We definite can’t do all the above yet but it’s on our roadmap. Check it out and if it seems interesting, join us on this journey to make property data a little less 💩.
What are we building here
Put simply, we’re building a dead simple app that puts all the relevant information about properties at your fingertips. Our goal is to not only make the information available, but also to make it easy to consume and digest.
On top of that, we also hope to make it easier to discover projects / properties that are undervalued or interesting by building a powerful filtering and search system.
For example, it would be possible to search for a property that fetches an average rental of $3000/month in rental with a mortgage of $1M. Furthermore, it would make it possible for you to put together a list of properties with 2-bedders under $1200psf across the whole of Singapore in mere seconds.
